FINAL PROJECT PROPOSAL: Magnus Opus and Exigence > Event Planning Guidelines for a Campus Ministry at the University of Maryland
H R., You may find that the timeline/events work is not large enough to fit the 7-10 page norm. I can see that you have some other ideas.
Might I add an approach? Describe ways to work also with other campus ministry programs? This way, you build fellowship with other Christian groups (something you all share, this call to fellowship) but also as a move toward ecumenism and understanding. I think that doing so, might also serve to advertise your group, making possible the recruitment of new members.
This focus, also helps you look at sources other than internal to your group or UMCP. Look at some religious studies journals and also the higher ed institutional support literature. The experience of other campuses can also be used as sources.

Audience: Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) Ministry Team at UMD. Ministry Team is essentially a large executive board with decentralized responsibility. Like any board, they administrate all of the functions of the organization.
Context: Student organization leadership turns over about every 18 months. When one leader moves on, it is difficult for the next leaders to pick up where they left off. In a campus ministry, leadership is often decentralized, and people do not always recognize what responsibilities they should take. The broad mission statement also means there is freedom in what events happen, so when one strong leader leaves, there is often no official leader to take their place. The organization stagnates for a bit, and those left behind aren’t sure who should be in charge or what should be done. With more structure in place, newer board members will be better able to sustain the organization’s traditional events while they maintain their freedom to plan new events.
Purpose: The goal of this document is to guide the transition process between leaders and prevent one semester or year of ineffective work. Specifically, this document will include a list of events and a checklist of tasks for each event. It will also include standard administrative roles needed for baseline function of the organization and instructions on how to book rooms.
