FINAL PROJECT PROPOSAL: Magnus Opus and Exigence > How to Eat Healthy on a Budget at UMD
YK,
I think that this instructional guide would be very helpful for students who are moving out of residence halls and into apartments where they have to start cooking for themselves. I would love to read this in the future!

I cannot wait to read this. I really need something like this in my life. I wish I had thought of this. It would be interesting if you included local deals or did a price comparison between different stores. Also taking into account the methods of transportation to the various stores.

I really like this idea! It hit a little too close to home given my recent rediscovery of the ease and cheesiness of Hot Pockets. I would also include a section on transportation or delivery options with groceries, as often that is a big obstacle for many students who have to go off-campus for cheap groceries but struggle to schedule that transport.

I love this idea! I always try to eat healthy, but since I now live in an apartment, it is a little more time consuming to cook and prepare healthy meals (or meals in general). I would love to see tips on preparing quick meals or recipes that I could use.

I find that many college students are ignorant on buying healthy and cheap food, so this is much needed. Make sure to talk about Aldi! https://www.americaninno.com/dc/guess-which-dc-grocery-store-is-cheapest-and-which-is-most-expensive/

I think this topic is very relevant for everybody in this class because as college students it is so easy to get caught up in unhealthy eating habits. However, this project has the ability to make us more aware of the healthy food options that we can indulge in without spending too much money which is always a plus.

Listen to your readers, Y. Really good project here that I hope you will share.
Do you know about ugly fruit? Would food delivery, perhaps shared with a friend, help with busy life/no car?

Also, please tell students about the campus pantry.

I like this idea! It's a very important topic for just about anyone living off-campus. Be sure to talk about methods of transportation too - convenience is a very important factor in all of this! I look forward to reading this!

Like you said, that's hard to believe. I think that we are all excited to get the inside scoop of how to eat better, for a good price, while around campus.

Context: Eating healthy can be a struggle for many college students. Healthy meals and habits often require more time to prepare, more expenses to spend, and more precautions to be aware of. With the multitude of cheap fast food options around College Park -- both restaurants and delivery services -- it is easy for UMD college students to opt out of grocery shopping and prepare home-cooked meals. Additionally, many college students have strict semester budgets since tuition is a weighing expense and loans are a stressful debt to pay. However, eating healthy is crucial for optimal student success and it is easier to find healthy food options around College Park than believed.
Purpose: The purpose of this document is to outline healthy food options around College Park and highlight the surprising ease of maintaining a healthy student lifestyle.
DOCUMENT TYPE: This document will be an instructional guide for UMD college students. It will address the problems and fears that many UMD college students face when it comes to being healthy and will instruct students how to construct a healthier meal plan with the resources around College Park.
