FINAL PROJECT PROPOSAL: Magnus Opus and Exigence > Hawaiian Spider Families in the Canopy: An IdentificationĀ Guide
This sounds really interesting. I'm excited to the final product and learn more about different kinds of spiders. I'm also curious about if the illustrations will be drawn or if you will be able to find usable pictures online.

Will these spiders be from only one of the Hawaiian Islands or from all of them? This sounds like a very interesting subject that could be valuable for researchers who work with these spiders. I cant wait to learn more

Document design is key here. Be sure to include some of your annotated bib. entries as for design usefulness. Will you use your own sketches? Consider how helpful line drawings can be, in addition to color images.
Do you think the Tree Finder format is good? You can have part of your project be a small booklet. Even if this is rough, we can call this a mock up, as a design tool.

Context: Not much research has been done on spiders in the canopy; nearly all papers on Hawaiian spiders have studied spiders collected in forest understory. This guide is meant to describe the spider families that have been found in the canopy.
Purpose: To help researchers working with canopy arthropods identify and learn about their spider specimens.
Document Type: Dichotomous key with descriptive sections on each family.
Design/format: Dichotomous key will have descriptive couplets and illustrations of the traits used in bubbles/text boxes, with arrows guiding the reader from couplet to couplet. The descriptive sections will be in prose, with images of spiders from the family.
Citation style: APA
