FINAL PROJECT PROPOSAL: Magnus Opus and Exigence > An Introductory Guide to Protein Therapeutics at Dr. Steven Jay’s Lab
R, looks like a good plan. Think of your annotated bibliography as part of this manual, too. Be sure to include papers from the lab, as well as some competitors.
You might also include a glossary of terms or knowledge, and some conceptual diagrams. The first two-thee pages can provide a primer on the research context.
Ask me about a letter to open or close, as well as what note taking or lab journal practices are customary in your lab.

New undergraduate members of Dr. Steven Jay’s Lab
Context:
New undergraduate members of Dr. Steven Jay’s Lab are typically unfamiliar with lab techniques and the details of the lab’s protein therapeutic project. This document will provide introductory materials to get new members up to speed with ongoing research at the lab.
Purpose:
The purpose of the lab documentation is both how to do lab techniques and information about past and current research on protein therapeutics.
Document Type:
Laboratory manual
Design/format:
The document will start with a summary of the first article published by Dr. Steven Jay’s lab called “Engineered Multivalency Enhances Affibody-Based HER3 Inhibition and Downregulation in Cancer Cells”. This will be followed by a summary of the current article that the lab is working on called “HER3-Targeted Affibodies with Optimized Formats Reduce Tumor Progression In Vivo in an Ovarian Cancer Model”. After the summary of the articles, I will summarize three lab procedures. I will summarize Gel Electrophoresis, Protein Purification, and Western Blotting. The document will be between 7-10 pages.
