FINAL PROJECT PROPOSAL: Magnus Opus and Exigence > Lab Manual for Synthetic Biology Techniques

Audience: Students on the UMaryland iGEM team who do lab work

Context: Incoming members of the UMaryland iGEM team are usually not familiar with common synthetic biology techniques. Resources do exist in the form of senior members and sparse notes, but this is often not enough. A comprehensive basic guide help newcomers familiarize themselves with synthetic biology techniques.

Purpose: Provide resources such as procedures and troubleshooting options for students new to synthetic biology techniques.

Document Type / Design Format: Laboratory Manual

C, really glad you can create this orientation manual for iGem. Will this be a combination of definitions (synbio types) AND some procedures? In this way, the document uses prose for a taxonomy/overview of method types and then shifts to a manual of instructions.

You could also write this way: define type, follow with instructions; repeat for the three to seven synbio practices you will focus on.

Can you see what technique should go first?
