FINAL PROJECT PROPOSAL: Magnus Opus and Exigence > A Look at PTSD Treatment; Medication vs Psychotherapy

Audience
This document is written for people in the medical community. Specifically, psychiatrists and pharmacists can benefit from this document because it might help them devise a more effective plan of treatment.

Context
The condition of many PTSD patients has not been improving or has only slightly improved as a response to the treatment that they have been given. This study analyzes different methods of treatment in order to ensure the most impactful results in these patients.
Purpose The purpose of this document will be to not only provide an analysis of different PTSD treatment, but to also offer a recommendation of what treatment should be widely adopted with supporting evidence.

DOCUMENT TYPE
This document will be a combination of a review of literature and a set of recommendations. In the literature review section of the document, this paper will review the literature regarding different methods of PTSD treatment. Additionally, the document will also be a recommendation for members of the medical community.

Design/format
The document will begin by discussing the background information, such as the terminology and science associated with PTSD. The document will then go into two different methods of treatment of PTSD: medication and psychotherapy. The document will then discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each treatment. Using the supporting evidence discussed earlier in the document, I will then conclude by offering the recommended treatment.

Citation style
This document will contain a combination of formal APA citations and natural language. This will allow the paper to appeal to members of the medical community while still maintaining its readability. I will also include referral links if necessary to allow for better flow.

J,

Would you consider revising the audience so that you are writing a patient guide? As you describe this decision task, patients could really benefit. To address in part the professional angle, you can imagine a primary care physician who would help the patient decide about treatment options?

One subtle but real aspect here is how and when to combine the treatment modalities?

Touch base with me about this guide. The referral ink citation option is part of why what you skillfully propose here "wants" to be patient guide.
