FINAL PROJECT PROPOSAL: Magnus Opus and Exigence > Food Insecurity in Baltimore City

Audience: This document is targeting residents of Baltimore City.

Context: Baltimore City, Maryland, is known for being a food desert with convenience shops being more common than actual grocery stores and markets.

This document will serve as a guide to residents of various income levels, with a particular focus on lower SES communities, on accessing food in the city.

Document Type: The final document will be a literature review, as presentation of the current research on food insecurity in the city, and a list of resources to how residents can access local and affordable foods.

Design/format: Literature review of 3-5 relevant research articles as well as a list of various ways to obtain food.

Citation style: Citations will be done through referral links and formal APA citations.

K,

Good plan, with a few comments by me: consider this a limited literature review. And, rethink the audience a bit. Most lay audiences are not focused on the genre of literature reviews. What if you think about a council of churches and faith-based organizations as your audience? These people who do communicate with citizens will appreciate your updated information.

You could narrow in some way, to focus on fresh fruits/vegetables and find literature that documents positive innovations to address this area. For example, physicians are starting to write scripts for fresh food.

Looking forward to what you develop with this fine idea; want to hear your plans for "right-sizing your inquiry" to be do-able.
