WORKING TITLE: Magruder Park Rain Garden Proposal, City of Hyattsville
TOPIC: Rain Garden feasibility study
LAY AUDIENCE: The document will be prepared for Jim Chandler (Community Development Chair) and Anthony Mulkey (Director of the Dept. of Recreation and the Arts).

PURPOSE: The feasibility and benefits of installing a rain garden in the park will be evaluated; including an explanation of the hydrological processes involved, construction methods and materials, and cost analysis.
DOCUMENT TYPE: Rain garden feasibility study. Will include background research, a discussion on the location, construction materials and methods, and costs.

Bobbie,

Be sure to share this with your bosses. My job will be to help you write a fine document FOR THEIR USE.

Be sure to look at the range of rain gardens on campus. How important are aesthetics? The rain gardens near the Kim engineering are quite beautiful.

Use the rain garden memo as a foundation. Be sure to address maintenance and aesthetics. You could write to Allen Davis about this. Chat with me first before you email him.

You should look also at phytoremediation. Is oil runoff from parking lots a factor here?
