FINAL PROJECT:Structures and Arguments > A College Guide to Sports and Energy Drinks

The overall structure/shape of my paper will be a lemon. It will start with an smaller introduction paragraph, have more involved paragraphs of explanation for each different categories, and finish with an FAQ section.

Beginning:
As an intro, I am thinking of setting the scene of a student studying late into the night during finals week. As they start to nod off, they reach for their energy drink of choice. I'll go on to question the effectiveness of their drink, and whether or not they would be better off with an alternative.

Middle:
I plan on explaining the various components of various popular drinks, such as Gatorade, Red Bull and 5 Hour Energy. I will explain the health benefits and risks, and possibly have both a bottom line recommendation/alternative suggestion at the end of each section.
End: Because each drink will have its own section within the paper, each will have their own endings. In the end as an overall conclusion, I will give a final recommendation for finals in order to keep student's functioning as they finish out the semester. I will add the FAQ section at the end, as well.

GOAL:
The goal in the end would be to inform college students of how their choice of drink does play a part in their health, both during finals, and in general.

In addition to the drinks you note, A, I think you need a glossary, too. The glossary can be of the ingredients that appear in the "recipes" -- like the easy ones:

sugar (type)
caffeine
electrolytes
vitamins

And, less commonly known ones like Taurine. Others?

So, can you give your classmates a preview now: coffee and lots of water are your best bets? Cola style drinks, now that it is hot?

And, do not forget the problem lurking in the background: staying up all night.
