FINAL PROJECT:Structures and Arguments > Popular Workout and Energy Supplements and Their Biochemical Effects on the Body

Beginning: I will introduce that my paper examines the biological and chemical interactions associated with popular supplements such as caffeine, taurine, creatine, beta-alanine, and several others. By knowing the effects of these supplements, students can choose more wisely the products they drink and also learn relevant science concepts at the same time.

Middle: I will site research papers on each of the supplements I chose to talk about. I will encompass relevant biology/chemistry details which will help the students continue to learn science material while also learning how to safely choose which products to use/drink for energy and/or working out.

End: I'll state the healthiest current products and reference the research stated previously. I will also highlight/review the major concepts of chemistry/biology learned in the paper.

Logos: I will use research papers to back all of my claims for each supplement I discuss.

Pathos: I will talk about how supplements can help people workout for longer and with more intensity. This will build interest in the topic. For those not interested in working out,I will discuss the increase in focus and energy associated with some of the supplements.

Ethos: I will show credibility by using research papers from respected journals or by using papers with over 100 test subjects (a lot of supplements will use a very small sample size, which indicates a high chance of bias).

Structure: I will divide it into three parts: describing the purpose, explaining the chemistry/biology behind the supplements, and discussing my views on which current products are the best/healthiest.

Purpose: Teach elements of biology/chemistry while informing students on safe and healthy energy/workout products.
