FINAL PROJECT:Structures and Arguments > Leishmania and Leishmaniasis: A Research Prospectus

Beginning: Introduce the idea of what this document is for, what the topic of the research is going to be; I will introduce Leishmania, the problems that arise from their infection, and why this is an important issue

Middle: I will go through the background/previous research that is giving me the basis for my project, and explain how I plan to use it in my own analyses

End: I will explain my own analyses (that I plan to do), why they are important, and the implications of the research I plan to do

LOGOS: Data from the article I did for journal review, data from my lab which has been published, and well known background information on Leishmania and Leishmaniasis from the WHO and CDC

PATHOS: Information about who Leishmaniasis actually affects, the projects targeting it, and the implications piece which I will discuss in depth

ETHOS: Credibility of the background research and the methods I plan to use to conduct my own research.

STRUCTURE: I am doing a research prospectus, so I will have a more academic structure that begins with a background, discusses prior research, details my intended research, and ends with implications and importance

GOAL: Explain what I plan to study and why it's important; I intend it to be a bit of precursor/preparer for the official thesis proposal I plan to write

M -- looks like a good plan.

One additional thought, to conclude with: many grant proposals now for public and foundation funding conclude with brief section:

Implications for Society

or

Social and Economic Implications

You might consider writing a response to these prompts, if you need to fill out the length.
