FINAL PROJECT:Structures and Arguments > Vet Tech Guide

Beginning: Present the problem of needing written directions for new vet techs at QO Vet hospital.

Middle: using my references, present the roles of vet techs, how it is an emotionally and physical challenge but still a fulfilling role, the importance of gaining trust through competence, surgical assistant
End: introduce the main tasks performed by vet techs such as drawing blood on both dogs and cats and placing a catheter properly. At the very end, I will attach 3 directions.

LOGOS: personal experience and experience of registered vet techs
PATHOS: briefly discussing hard topics such as euthanasia and animal welfare.

ETHOS: Authors of articles referenced are registered vet techs and certified in emergency and critical care, some authors are veterinarians, and I am a vet tech with 7 years of experience as well as a pre-veterinary animal science major.

STRUCTURE: Front matter information on vet techs followed by directions of tasks vet techs perform every day.

GOAL: provide an efficient guide on tasks and information of vet techs for the new vet techs so that they feel comfortable in their new role.

V, this looks like a good plan. One question about VT as a career; are some like you, working toward DVM? Are others wanting to advance within the practice? You might think about some of your tone and content, if your audience is mixed.

One other pathos idea you might want to be aware of is developing fear after a bad dog bite? Is that something you can help prevent, with some attention to preparation and reading dog stress signals?
