FINAL PROJECT:Structures and Arguments > Choosing an Ideal Exercise Routine as a College Student

Beginning: I will start with a narrative of my experience with regular exercise for the past several years. I will then explain the importance of exercise for students, and how it can provide mental and physical benefits that will help, especially for school. This will introduce the purpose of the guide.

Middle: I will use scientific research, personal advice, and expert opinions on the best types/routines of exercise that a student can engage in, given their limited time and equipment.

End: I will reiterate the benefits of exercise, specifically for college students, and explain how only a fraction of the day is needed to engage in effective exercise.

LOGOS: 1) research on cognitive benefits associated with HIIT exercise 2)research on physical benefits associated with HIIT exercise 3) expert trainers' suggested exercise moves

PATHOS: Personal life changes that I experience when exercising regularly, as well as expert quotes that emphasize the importance of exercise in students.

ETHOS: Credibility of researchers, professional trainers, and medical experts in sports medicine.

STRUCTURE: I will use two structures: 1)Explain and emphasize the proven and anecdotal benefits of exercise when in college 2)informational guide on exercise routines
GOAL: persuade/guide college students (who are currently not physically active) to engage in some sort of exercise routine, even if it is only a few minutes long, in order to gain the physical and mental benefits that allow students to feel their best.

J, I think you need the HIIT or Ten-minute workout idea in your title. I also think that this can also be a good intro to a powerful question opener like:

You would like to exercise but your busy college schedule interferes, right? What if I told you that ten minutes of strategic, effective exercise is possible? Called high intensity interval training (HIIT), these workouts....

Also, can you include the buddy system idea? Here is an excellent summary of peer reviewed research on this idea: https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2016/10/161004081548.htm
