A Passion worth Chasing: Physicians tell stories from their practices
---
I think you copy/pasted some of the sample.
For ethos: you are relating the ethos of practitioner stories telling how the profession really is from INSIDE.
Did you find that MedLifeCrisis channel helpful? And, more women?
Anything about family-work balance? Any men talking about that?

Beginning: Hook the audience with a relatable narrative. When it comes to premed tracks in undergrad, one main thing that ‘unites’ the students is the fact that we are all in the same treacherous stressful scenarios. I would elaborate on some classes that I know everyone struggles in and the aspect of finding a research lab to work in, because that is a crucial part of med school applications. Essentially my beginning would be where I hook my audience my telling, through my experience, that I am in the same boat as them. Allowing that relationship to form, I believe will strengthen my piece overall.
Middle: I will use four of my sources that relate to the pre-med life and what to expect in/from med school and what to expect from life as a practicing physician. In this part I will focus on what pre-med students are not informed of in undergrad, in the hopes that the next & upcoming wave of med students are more prepped with the rigors and stressors of med school.
End: The sources I would use here, would be ones to further support the case I made in the section above. I would more focus on how mishaps and surprises aren’t the end-all of a med student or a practicing physician’s career/life.
LOGOS: Excerpts from books/bibliographies written by those in the field. I would also look into taking parts of interviews or Q&A with younger physicians and putting it in my paper.
PATHOS: The stress and dedication to medical practice begins from your sophomore/junior year of college, so the toll on the students’ mental, physical and emotional health starts from then.
ETHOS: credibility of thinkers like James Hillman, Carol Pearson, Martin Seligman, Victor Frankl.
STRUCTURE: I will use two structures: 1) Tell a story or a prose, one where my reader will be able to relate and connect with what I am saying and 2) support/documentation using excerpts from bibliographies and vlogs.
GOAL: Allow an inside look to what to expect from me school and how to approach/handle it from those with experience and in the field. I would like to aim to write it as ‘what to expect when you’re expecting’.
