FINAL PROJECT: Abstract and Reader's Reponse > The Tools Of Photoshop

ABSTRACT: The Tools of Photoshop Tutorial accessible on the web for anyone to see, begins by explaining in very simplistic terms, what each tool of Photoshop does. The format of the guide lists what each icon looks like with definitions of what each tool does. Further explanation with demonstration of application of the tool is given following the comprehensive list of tools. The following section of the guide demonstrates how each tool's features can be applied to a photo. Yet, there is a limitation in that there a variety of edits that can be done to a photo with each tool, that the author is not able to cover or discuss in the guide. The following last sections demonstrate real-life cool edits that were made in Photoshop and what someone may anticipate in entering the workforce that uses Photoshop. The guide is simple for beginner-level Photoshop users to be able to understand. As Adobe expands their software line and updates their current software, there are many overlaps between Photoshop and Illustrator for example, where possibly the same results can be done in either program. The author does not mention why Photoshop may be more useful than another program; in which the user may assume that Photoshop is the most efficient program for photo editing. WC: 213

READER'S PROFILE: The reader will most likely be a first-time Photoshop user.

READER'S RESPONSE: From reading the guide, I now know what each tool does. I will use this knowledge and apply it in editing photography I have that I've always wanted to edit. From reading about the tool's features and capabilities, I will try to use the same methods to edit my photos. Seeing the interesting photography and art from people has inspired me to give it ago myself. If I really like it, I will even look into pursuing it as a career, after having read about Photoshop in the workforce from this guide.

N -- you do not need to cover all of PS tools. Narrow to a few key steps that you can share as per our discussion in office hours.
