FINAL PROJECT: Abstract and Reader's Reponse > Abstract to Bicycle Guide
Z -- narrow the geographical focus to Route 1 PGC or even inside the Beltway. Some of what you say here suggest two other ways to narrow: by generation, as in millennial riders or a City of College Park/UMCP campus approach.

Several surveyors, data analysts, and researchers over the past few decades have been reporting on the effects cars have had on our societies. Where we take them, why we take them there, and the ultimate detrimental consequences of combustion in our environment. In my Prince George's County Bicycle Guide I begin by reviewing and analyzing some of this data and come to the conclusion that bicycles are the key to the modern generations problem. In order to fully take advantage of what I hope will usher in a new era of cycling I include a section on easy-to-do maintenance tips and a outline of the general traffic ecosystem of Prince George's county. In my maintenance section I include instructions on how to fix a flat, knowing when and why to replace brake pads, and choosing which lube to use for your chain. This will in turn help those who are looking to limit their visits to the "professionals" at local bike shops. In my traffic ecosystem section I will present data on various traffic patterns and a trail map frameworks that the cycling population can take advantage of. In addition I will make further suggestions on how the cycling community can come together and combat bad habits of car-bike relationships when commuting to work. I also include an interview from a cyclist on campus to tell his perspective and experiences of the biking culture in University of Maryland.

Hey! The maintenance tips you provided were clearly presented and very helpful so thank you! I plan on using them next time I take my road bike out to commute to my job in D.C 8 miles away. But why include all the information on the automobiles history and all those boring statistics? It's not like I lived in that generation and it seems trivial to my life right now. The traffic pattens you presented at the end were OK but I wish there was some initiative to help bring the cycling community together man! I feel like if we worked together we can make some real changes around here! peace and love man!
