FINAL PROJECT: Abstract and Reader's Reponse > Documentation Required to get VaccineCare Approved as a Student Organization at UMD

Abstract:

I have co-founded a non-profit healthcare organization called VaccineCare and am looking to get this organization approved and recognized as an official student run organization at UMD.
To do so, proper documentation that describes the goals and structure of the organization is required. I am writing all of this information for the board at STAMP student union who will be making the decision to approve my organization or not. This document includes information about VaccineCare including motives, missions, organizational structure, events, and long term vision. This information will ultimately help the board get a good sense of what the purpose of VaccineCare is and how it will run and function. The board will also need this information to ensure that VaccineCare is not too similar to other organizations already on campus and to make sure that the organization’s goals are practical. I use primarily first person in this document and is primarily wrote in an informative tone. Section 1 is the only part of this document that is in a personal and more anecdotal tone. With this documentation, I want to be able to give the board a clear sense of what we are trying to do as an organization and make a strong case to gain official approval to get VaccineCare up and running as a student run organization at UMD. Natural language citation with hyperlinks to sources and a bibliography will help me reach my audience.

Reader's Response:

This was indeed a very detailed description of the organization and they seem to have a clear plan for their future. I especially love the sustainability plan as it is important for a registered organization on campus to be impactful years down the line. I am still a little skeptical of how much funding they will be able to get to pay a small portion of their yearly trip to India. The budget should be more well developed as well, but since they are only in their beginning stages as an organization, it is understandable why it is not more comprehensive
